To combat the impact of the economic downturn in the ever more competitive photography industry, five Portland-based photographers have joined together to create a collaborative assemblage known as PhotoForce (photo-force.com).

The team — consisting of Steven Scardina, Lincoln Barbour, Brian Lee, Stuart Mullenberg and Daniel Root — was established to bring "five top photographers together in one collective."

The group's first major presentation, "Setting the Table," went on display at the Venue Pearl in Portland in January...

Portland, Ore., photographer Steve Scardina (scardinaphoto.com) recently presented a series of black-and-white photographs taken in rural villages in central Europe over a six-year period. The exhibition, “Architectural Treasures of Central Europe,” was held at Portland’s Collective, Inc., late last year. A portfolio of the images also appeared in the October/November issue of LensWork.

Steven Scardina Photography, based in Portland, Ore., has completed work for the new product line promotion of Four Corners Home Collection, set to debut at the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market.

Other projects include work for via design to promote Roger’s Instruments’ new touring organ, an advertising campaign for Cabazon Design for Genoa Restaurant, and Canterbury Real Estate Services’ promotional materials for Boise Outlet Mall.
